Hypnosis can help you sleep

Good sleep is extremely important to help us cope with everything that needs our attention during the day. If we sleep well, we feel rested and refreshed in the morning. We will have restored the energy in our body to deal with the physical tasks and our minds will feel clear and able to focus on studying or problem solving. Good quality sleep will affect our mood and help us to see things clearly and in a positive way.

There are different ways to promote good sleep, but one of the first things to do is to observe a healthy way of eating especially towards the end of the day. It is a way of sending signals to the body to let it know that it is time to slow down.

Good Sleep Promotion

  1. Limit Caffeine

Caffeine is a stimulant that makes it hard for you to sleep at night. Limit your caffeine intake to no more than 3 cups a day and do not drink any caffeine in the late afternoon and evening.

  1. Limit Alcohol

Alcohol makes you drowsy and might help you to feel asleep initially. However your sleep can be broken and you will wake up feeling tired.

  1. Limit exercise close to bedtime

Exercise during the day will increase your fitness levels and help you to concentrate better and improve the quality of your sleep. However exercise too close too bedtime will wake the body up.

  1. A light bedtime snack

Avoid going to bed hungry, a light bedtime snack like milk or peanut butter can help to make you drowsy.

  1. Keep your bedroom quiet, dark and cool

A comfortable, restful room will promote restful sleep.

Visualise yourself on a tropical island, standing next to a beautiful pool into which a warm waterfall is splashing.

Imagine yourself stepping into this restful pool and feel the warmth of it starting at your feet and calves and moving up through your legs and hips, body, arms and neck when you slowly immerse yourself.

Swim over to the waterfall and let the water cascade over your entire body. Cleansing and relaxing you. Washing away all your worries, all your concerns. Massaging you and easing away any tension. Leaving every muscle, every fibre, every cell of your entire body beautifully relaxed.

Now swim over to the side of the pool and lie down onto the soft warm grass, feel the sunshine warming your body and a fresh breeze relaxing your skin even more. Distant sounds creating even more comfort. Nothing needs your attention. Let yourself drift off into this comfortable feeling.
